The Girl on the Train was the winner of the weekend box office with an estimated $24.7 million. The film also earned a reported $16.5 million to bring its total to $41.2 million. The film had an estimated budget of $45 million.
The domestic box office was down compared to the same weekend last year as most of the top rankings were holdovers from the previous week which made up of the rest of the top five.
